Erdraz are colossal fire-spitting lizards known to inhabit volcanic slopes, mountain ridges, and other places sensible dwarves avoid.
The individuals who willingly track them for a living are known as Hunters of Erdraz.
These solitary professionals are not thrill-seekers: they are pragmatic, disciplined, and very well compensated. Though trained specifically for Erdraz hunts, their services are frequently requested whenever something large, aggressive, and structurally inconvenient needs to be removed.
Troll in the valley?
Runaway Drake?
Something roaring behind the mill at night?
They will assess. They will track. They will conclude.
They are far more comfortable reading claw marks in ash than navigating city streets, and urban small talk is widely considered a secondary hazard.
Often accompanying these hunters is a Hunting Bulldog Familiar, an improbable assistant with legendary laziness and a deeply philosophical relationship with effort.
Do not be deceived.
When sufficiently motivated (usually by something edible), the Bulldog can demonstrate remarkable tenacity, surprising speed, and a jaw strength that has ended more than one ill-advised charge.
Think of it as a tactical asset with dietary prerequisites.
